Business Training

While very positive and "can do," forget about pep talks! We go way beyond coaching! We've advised, mentored and done one-on-one consulting with literally hundreds of startups and small businesses across multiple industries.

We've achieved real, tangible results, despite considerable odds. One method is to get a company acclaimed in a wide variety of media, which translates into new clients and increased sales. Credibility. This is always a carefully guided, step by step process, with full and complete explanations.

We've also demonstrated the big picture, "social media ecosystem," so businesses with limited resources can leverage what they have to get practical results. And don't waste time and money getting there.

We've trained small business owners and their staffs at various Rotary Clubs, Kiwanis and Chambers of Commerce, on site, in their offices and showrooms and at the nearest, local library.

Featured panelist at South Florida Business Journal's "Crash Course in Social Media.
As LinkedIn grows ever more important to business, these types of workshops are increasingly necessary.
We provide specialized "Leadership Institute" seminars. Most requested topic? Crisis communications.

By popular demand, CHARITY BASHED is in print!

Publishers Weekly and a Top Amazon Reviewer recommend the Palm Beach mystery novel, "CHARITY BASHED." This beach read is a fun, humorous satire set among the secretive and posh enclave that is known as "The Island," in south Florida.

Available in paperback and Kindle, Nook, Kobo and many other digital readers.

CNN HERO (Case Study)

A client, who began life as a migrant worker in Belle Glade, Florida ("Harvest of Shame" territory) spent her own retirement funds to buy a bus. She then customized it with Internet access, laptops, satellite dish and drove it to disadvantaged neighborhoods to teach children computer skills.

Her accomplishments were enormous, but Estella Pyfrom was not getting the funding and acclaim she needed and deserved, to build a fleet of Brilliant Buses. It took a combination of traditional and digital marketing to feature her good works on NBC Nightly News "Person Who Makes a Difference," then CNN. #YesWeCan

Ms. Pyfrom's motto: "This is not a bus, it's a movement!"

Sarah Silverman gives Estella Pyfrom a "Top 10" CNN Hero award for "Estella's Brilliant Bus." (2013)
Cheryl Snapp Conner, of, profiled us for "innovative techniques in PR," for promoting a one-woman nonprofit worldwide, on a shoestring budget.

Creative Teaching Methods

Digital native or not, no one wants a teacher who reads from the book, drones like that nasal professor in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" or lectures AT the class. And don't forget that viral YouTube clip, "Death by PowerPoint."

Instead, we get students to focus and enjoy learning new things, by doing live Internet demonstrations. We also create fun, colorful flyers that are customized to the particular class. We also make use of interactive quizzes with multiple choice answers and yes, trick questions. These methods also make use of new technologies in the classroom.

Call it infotainment, call it the school of not-so-hard knocks, but the students pay attention and remember the material and ask great questions!

A flyer shaped like an iPad. Fun quiz on the back.

We are never opposed to puns. Bad or not.

National Net Needs News Day

Editorial cartoonists from Miami to San Diego donated illustrations demonstrating that new media needs old media. The cartoons ran in newspapers nationwide.

Editorial cartoonists, including a 2009 Pulitzer Prize winner, generously shared their illustrations on what happens to the Internet and our society sans newspapers. The images of Phil Hands, Steve Breen, Jim Morin & Chan Lowe ran from Miami to San Diego, and were featured at the "Bullets and Blogs" conference at the U. S. Embassy in Vienna. Hagit Limor, then national president of the Society of Professional Journalists, as well sa Editor & Publisher, the National Writers Union, Newspaper Guild and others, announced the inaugural campaign.

Special thanks to Steve Kelley, former president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists.

James Fallows of The Atlantic, also announced the event.

We inaugurated National Net Needs News Day as more than a journalism appreciation campaign. Its purpose is to show how fundamental newspapers (and magazines) are to an informed citizenry and more useful social media.
